Need help identifying

New to this forums, looks like a great place. I used to have a few marine tanks a long time ago. My brother in-law has a tank ,which he doesn't take very good care of. I'm thinking about taking it off his hands. Need help identifying these little white mushroom looking things on his rocks.

Welcome, can't see them that well. Put the room lights on, and take your pic after tank lights are off. Looks like a mushroom. My shrooms are reproducing, and there's a white mucus under and around existing shrooms, but I only see the one.

Sorry I snapped what I could when I was there. He has quite a bit of algae build up. If I get back over I'll try to take a clearer photo. Thanks for the input so far.
