Edit: posting on mobile sucks. Darn title gore!

Just checked my filter floss and saw these little critters sitting on top moving around. First time I’ve seen them in my tank anywhere. Anyone able to ID and tell me if they are good or bad?

Big juicy amphipods which are a good source for fish and coral
Some are known to eat their smaller counterparts

Yep, amphipods, great clean up crew and free fish food. Once your lights go out, turn in a flash light and look around your tank on the rock and sand and you should see them scurrying around!

That’s exciting! Not sure how I introduced them to the tank but glad to have them! Just setting up another tank actually and moved a couple rocks over. Hope I got some of these in the process!

They can come in on live rock or coral frags bought from lfs or someone else’s tank that has them. You can also buy them….
