Need help on Calcium Reactor

I just got a whole set up of Calcium Reactor from a local reefer. Looks like it's a Super Reef Octopus CR3000D 7" Calcium Reactor. The circulating pump seems to be drawing air from the CO2 intake. Making bubble count quite difficult. Is this a normal behavior of this particular Calcium Reactor? Anything I can do to make it better? TIA!

Yep, that’s normal for that configuration of bubble counter. I’ve had luck pulling mine apart and cutting the end of that inner tube at an angle. Helped tremendously
