New liverock? Cured? Uncured? Old liverock from another aquarium? Any livestock? Cleaner crew? Are you testing Nitrites, Nitrates?

That's probably why you didn't see a cycle. Your rock already has the necessary bacteria from its former aquarium.

fmalin,
Thanks for reply,Im seeing alittle bit of diatom on the sand, send me a little more info on last reply

Diatoms are normal as they will use the silica available in the new water and will die back when that silica is used up.

What I was saying in the last post is that your live rock is your bio filter. It grows bacteria that breaks down your fish waste creating your nitrogen cycle. Ammonia-Nitrite-Nitrate-Nitrogen Gas. By introducing old rock from a cycled aquarium to a new aquarium the new aquarium didn't need to grow as much new bacteria.
