So originally I set up my tank as a "normal" reef tank.
After running across a few tanks that have rock breaching the water surface covered in airplants I became in love and wanted to do something similar with my tank...
Although most of theses tanks are shallow and are completely filled up, my tanks 24 inches so I'd have to make a super tall structure to do this. Well I also really like paludariums, which are freshwater.
So I took that idea and thought I could drain my tank down from 56 gallons to 35-40. That way I could still have rock breaching the water with airplants, but everything would be in the tank not out.
So I have proceeded to do this and tweaked my already existing scape to be just a tad taller.
It's looking pretty good (finishing it up tonight).
But now I have 2choices.
Please help me decide
#1
Do the partially filled tank, have airplants. This would be a mixed Reef, with possibly dwarf lion fish and that kind of stuff.
#2 fill it back up and have a "normal" tank. SPS dominated.
The first option would be a so called "tide pool" like you may find near an ocean. This is so far what I'm leaning towards.
