Over the last year I've tried at least two green monti caps and over a week or two they bleached out and died. The 210 is over a year old with acros growing and encrusting over the live rock. Blasto has at least three dozen heads. Ivory corals, tube corals, brain corals are all feeding and growing well. I have two orange monti caps that look like shag carpet. Polyps open and feeding, plating beginning. I also have a one month old purple monti that's already beginning to grow. The problem is with the green monti caps. I also have one that was a drab green with blue polyps. The polyps are still open and very blue with a blue leading growing edge yet the green base color has faded to white. I'm running led's that seem to be acceptable to everything else in the tank. Anyone with experience with this problem and possible solutions.

I had a similar problem with my green cap where it was growing way too slow in comparison to my other caps and the green went brown on me. It was med light med-flow like all my other caps so I put it as high up as I could and blasted it with flow and the green is back and plating has begun. Hydra 26 and kessils. Hope its as simple as placement for yours also :)

I was having trouble with green caps myself a while back. Check for alk swings. since I started dosing every day and keeping my alk spot on the cap took off. I actually know if something is off by looking at the green cap it seems to be very sensitive lol
