Interesting -- seems like that was custom set-up. I can't find much else on line, but that DAS was out of Dallas it seems and more than 1 person has been unsure what to do with it.

Cool find...what are your next steps?

The basic plumbing is outlined in the overflow section of the link.

I'd get the pump and overflow working and look for a tunze com line style skimmer or another in tank style

I got it off of Facebook market for like 60 bucks. Lol the whole dang setup lol. He was charging 200 or everything but. Since he couldn’t find out how to even set it up. He drop the price thinking it was broke. So I just got a steal. My next step is to start a coral tank. I’m not new to the saltwater world. I just took a break from it. But my last tank was a fish only.

Great deal! Looking forward to what you come up with -- keep some updates posted on how you end up setting your coral tank up!

That's a first. I've never seen anything like that. I also don't get why the person did that. They basically tried to diy an AIO tank, it looks like, and put a huge internal filter inside the tank, which is taking up an extreme amount of space.

Is there any way to remove that whole filter box and maybe use some hang on filters instead? It's taking up a lot of tank space and doesn't look professionally done, imo.

So I took the tank to dallas north aquarium. They told me it was the Dutch aquarium system h39. It use to be the high end all in one. Back in the day. So you wouldn’t have to use a sump. It has a protein skimmer and filter that you fit in there

From what I found here, this setup was old back in 2001.

Check out this LINK that may give you more insight.
