Hey guys, since I've only been doing Saltwater for a year I need help picking out some colorful coral that's easy to maintain. So far I have some gsp, green hairy mushroom, purple Xenia, Kenya trees and recently acquired some sinularia. I need something that'll really pop. Looking into something that'll grow with my fluval Marine light. ( I know, not the best light but it works with my budget). I was thinking about some blastomussa. Any input would help since I'm not too familiar with all coral.

You can probably keep lps but they have to be up high up in the tank.
I like hammer and frogspawns because they add movement to the tank and are easy to keep

Gsp is very invasive and nasty sting so considered it on its own rock. They suffocated and sting other corals

Blastomussas could work, they are a lower light coral and depend on feedings for more of their energy. another coral you could try is any of the donut type corals (Acanthophyllia, Cynarina, Indophyllia, Homophyillia), large single-polyp eating beasts. They get a large percent of their energy from feedings in the wild, and live in deep dark areas of the reefs and are a joy to keep, given that they are fed regularly (think weekly).
Another cool coral that sould do well in that environment is any Caulastrea species, they are super cool and grow really fast, providing frags to trade to other reefers.
Good luck stocking the tank! Really it all comes down to what you like best.
God bless.

I'd look into euphyllia, such as torch/hammer/frogspawn or some brighter zoas like Utter Chaos over blastomussa if I wanted something that really pops. Euphyllia will give you color + movement while zoas will typically grow and spread quicker than other corals. Blastos are awesome, but they are rarely the brightest coral in anyone's tank.

Preciate ur advice. Hopefully my lfs has some 4th of July sales in coral.

Not really coral per-se, but anemones(rock flowers, mini maxis) really pop and aren't to expensive unless you start looking at bubble tips. Also generally very easy to take care of. I got these guys from Aqua SD, pictures below so you can see colors. I would also recommend elegance corals. Huge(if looking to fill spots out), colorful, easy to care for, but not the cheapest.

Just buy yourself some black box from ebay. They’re like $75 each or something and they’ll grow anything. Its just hit or miss with their life span and on rare occasion will catch on fire. Besides that, they are good budget lighting
