My dad is insanely jealous of my 75 gal tank. He looks at his own 20 gal, crowded planted FW tank and is slowly winning my mom over to getting a larger tank.

They need help finding the right tank, and I thought I'd ask you. They are going to stay freshwater

They can go tall, about 30" wide, but the trick is, they can't go too deep. The location they want to put it is sort of restricted (it's between two doorways and if it sticks out too far, they can't get around it easily).

I am thinking something narrow like the fluval spec, but larger.. possibly around 40 gallons.

anyone have ideas? I know they don't want to spend tons of money either.

You can go custom and get some cool shapes. Something like a 30L*12W*30H would be around 45 gallons I think and look cool but being so tall it might be a pain to work in. A store bought 37g is also 30L*12W*22H. Or go really wild and do like 30L*12W*48H

Lol.
30in is going to limit them but it'll be fun shopping.
Those lists are not the end all be all. There some odd shapes and like Evan said there's a few deep ones in the 40 50 range I belive.

Nice chart, not my thread but thanks:D
Its always good to see you!
I had found or bookmarked a really good one when I was shopping for my cube sump, but I just cant find it:mad:. It had the bio cubes on it too...

Just my 2 cents....but I would hunt around for another location and go with a deeper tank. 12 inches for depth is very small.......a wider tank will provide many more aquascaping options....I know this is a fresh water tank but more depth will help in a big way.
