No I have not fresh water dipped him yet. My copper level is 2.0 I just raised it last night it was 1. 75 hanna tester
I been raising it up over 3 days
That is a reaction to too much copper! Cupramine should not be raised above 0.5ppm!

I did a water change and put some carbon to try to get it down
Great, and having that Hanna checker will be priceless in this situation. Hopefully everyone will make it through.

Good luck!

Let us know how it goes. .4 PPM is sketchy but I hear it can work if kept above the entire time. Cupramine has a narrow band of effectiveness.

All still alive I have it down between 1.0 and .5 I am working on it..
Good job, and glad to hear they are all still alive!

Copper can be confusing when it comes to dosing requirements. Copper sulfate needs to be in the 0.2ppm to 0.25ppm range. Cupramine falls in the 0.4ppm to 0.5ppm. Most chelated copper products like Coppersafe and Copper Power need to be 1.5ppm to 2.0ppm. We tend to think of copper as a singular treatment but it just isn't the case. We don't even know the correct treatment range for some copper products on the market because the chelating agent used may vary which can impact the toxicity.

Anyway, keep up the good work!

I have brought the cupramine down and fish look better and seem to be doing good I think I burnt anything they had off OMG cant believe I did that.
I have a couple of them that are rubbing is that from being burnt from the cupramine being to high?

We've all made mistakes like this. We can only try to learn from them. The only people who don't make mistakes are those who don't do anything.

Rubbing could be caused my many things, including irritation or healing from the high copper. It could also be caused by flukes or other parasites.

What should the cupramine read using a API copper test kit read? ,5

.5ppm is where you want to be. Salifert and seachem test kits read a much lower range. They would be much better in this situation.

They have been through 3 different treatments so I dont know how they could have anything . They have been treated with copper safe then prazipro and kanaplex sulfaPlex furan-2
