Need help pls! 9004 skimmer

hello everyone! I just downgraded to a 30l and have the 9004 tunze DC skimmer I was wondering what level should I have the water in the neck? The dc pump makes it super level and doesn't fluctuate but there's no skimmate is this just because its new?

I used to run that skimmer a while back and I always had luck with it right around the middle of the grates. Make sure she’s level and let it break in a bit.

I had just no luck with this skimmer. It ran and gurgled a lot with no skim. Try elevating the water level OR increasing the air flow and see if that changes.

I have mine set so the foam just comes into the bottom of the neck and I get plenty of disgusting in the collection cup without it being overly wet. Possible your system is just too clean to have anything to skim yet?

Ah okay perfect thank you so much! Thats what I was thinking because my foam is at the middle of the neck and there's nothing really in the collection cup
