Need help reading redsea magnesium kit

The statement to ignore that air gap is certainly the recommended procedure to use any syringe, but it might confuse the OP here since he is presumably forced to measure from the air/water interface both at the start and finish of the titration (which is OK) since he overfilled the syringe past the 0 mL line and pulled the air/water line up to the 0 mL line.

For the OP, here's how to properly read a syringe:

I missed the bit somewhere where he over filled.
 
Sometimes we get syringes marked upside down. At the end of the day that should not matter as you fill to the top mark (bottom of plunger at top mark) When adding titrant I count whole graduations until I near the expected change point. That is I count .6 shake and start adding in drops until the color change. Read from the bottom of the plunger NOT the top of the liquid
