Need Help Setting LED Lighting Intensity

I recently purchased a 165W LED WIFI lighting system for my new 29 gallon reef. The light has three light channels; White, Blue, and Royal Blue. Also, the view angle is 120° and it will be hung 8” off the water. So what intensities should I run the light at?

What types of corals are you looking to keep? Best bet is to start out low, and slowly raise your intensity. %5 a week would be safe. Get it to a point where all the corals look happy and you're all set to go otherwise if you have access to a par meter would be the best way.

I currently have a nano reef setup with some softies and zoas and they’ll be going in this tank.

200 to 300 par at the top of the rockwork will be good for sps/most acros. Not sure what intensity level that would be for your particular lighting system though.

Okay. I plan on trying the sunrise/sunset method with the royal blue channel coming on at 10:00am then the blue and white channels get brighter until reaching there max at 12:00-6:00pm then they start fading back out from 6:00-8:00pm and the royal blue channel turns off at 9:00. So what should my max intensities be for the blue and white channels, and the intensity for the royal blue?

Or hang it like 2 feet above the tank and run it at 80% . That’s a lot of light for small tank. What is the make and model?

Okay. Where I’m gonna be moving my corals into this tank do I need to put them on the sand bed or can I put them on the frag rack. The rack is about 6 inches below the water

I'd do sand bed, just incase the light is to intense for them.

Hanging it higher will blend spectrum better. Will also make any changes made to lighting be as drastic. Id start really really low settings for those corals and always start at the bottom of the tank

I would love hang it higher but where tank is positioned in the house doesn’t make it possible and I don’t want to move the tank cause I moved it once to it’s new location and it took forever. So I’ll just place corals on bottom and start low intensity. My lights will be a 3:1:1 ratio with blue channel three times more intense than white and royal blue. I’ve read that blues need to be brighter. With intensity levels would it be good to start with 3% royal blue and whites and 12% blues or is that too low?
