I have a large hippo tang that has white spots and is darting all around a 300 gallon reef tank and appears sick. I had a flame angel & midas blenny die yesterday and also have a sailfin tang that's eye is cloudy and looks like it has fin rot. What do I do here? #reefsquad Are any antibiotics reef safe? Can I use kanaplex? No way I am going to be able to get any of these fish out the DT.

There are no really effective Reef safe meds that I know of.. although a lot of work, draining the tank down to like a foot of water and removing some of your rock will make catching the fish a lot easier or maybe try a trap but if fish is sick and isn’t eating that may not work.

Another thought.. you can use grid square to block off sections of your tank to limit the area they can swim which will making catching them easier.

Wait until the tank and the room it's in has been dark for a couple of hours. Using a small flashlight, shine the light into the eyes of the fish. It will mesmerize the fish allowing you to net it.
