I have had constant problems with my G5’s. Mainly all due to mobius. I can never do any firmware updates, my lights are never in sync, and everything always times out when I try and make changes. I just picked up neptunes new mxm module hoping that would help and it hasn’t. Now my lights and constantly dimming and getting brighter, never staying at the set intensity. Those have switched from radion, where have you gone? Kessil, skys, please help! I have 2 xr30’s over my 4ft 90 gallon.

It won't be long before the time drift will be fixed with an update.

I'm definitely not telling you to be patient, I'm definitely not telling you what to do, but this too will be an issue in the rear view mirror.
Time drift? Is this what’s causing my lights to cycle?

Get a single reefbreeders photon 48 v2 and call it a day.

not sure why corals you keep, but you can grow anything anywhere in a 90 with this light and it’s sleek and comes with mounting legs and hanging kit

This is the fixture Adam uses in the battle corals facility - arguably one of the best vendors of sps around

Here is a pic of my tank with it during evening lighting

In your listing of "good" lights, you totally missed the BEST LIGHT AVAILABLE right now, and they cost about HALF as much as Radion, or Kessil or Neptune Sky.

Here is a chart I used when choosing my lights.

As you can see the Reefi Uno 2.0 just flat out smokes the competition in every category. These lights come with an Industry Leading 3yr warranty, The guy who makes them has a FB page and I have personally seen him active at all hours helping people with any issue they may have. I'd say they have the Best Support in the Industry as well.

Radion xr30 g6 (205watt) run about $950 US. Reefi Uno 2.0 (270 watt) about $480 US.

I have 4 on an 8ft 300g DT running 126watts at peak on a softy/lps dominate at 105par on my sand, of the 270 watts power available. These Lights will put 300+ par on the sandbed in 30inches of water!

They have a very easy to use App, just needs a chrome type browser, pre-loaded light profiles, super easy to customize your own profile. Go check them out!

I agree that the reefi lights are good but that chart is marketing hype. They have more leds but don’t mention the brand or watt of led? Are they using the latest cree 5w leds?

It basically says they use more leds of a lesser wattage compared to other brands that use less leds but higher wattage

Fyi I hit 120 par on my sandbed with 3 channels at 35% and 3 channels off.

I would agree that it’s a good led worth considering but I wouldn’t by anyone means say they smoke the competition.

For his 90g a single reefbreeders 48v2+ can be bought for $750 and would do a fantastic job, and two reefi would also do a great job but would cost $960

My G5's time sync messes up every couple weeks. I am thinking until its fixed have them hooked up to an output on my Apex and just nightly turn them off for like 3 mins and then turn them back on since thats the fix any way...

I have an MXM for the 180 im building with g6's. I am hoping that helps?

I used to run 4 x 54w (coral+ and blue+ mix) t5 with 2x250 phoenix 14k halides
It was successful - see pics. Nobody denies success of t5/halide
But I’d never go back
I’ve had success with led - enough where I wouldn’t even consider using halide or bulbs again. My 4 foot halide t5 fixture (716w) has been in my garage for like 8 years and I’m planning on throwing it away lol

Current tank has Mitras LX7 on it, much higher build quality and supposed to be repairable if needed. I'm happy with the Mitras. I had 9 G4s on my 400, the fan noise alone made me buy something else this time. What moron thought the fans should run all night when the lights were off?
