need help to identify whats on my triggers face

I noticed this 2 days ago, our tank is relatively new.I looked through the images of diseases sticky and didn't find anything close to what's going on with him so I'm looking for some ideas , I'm going out of town tomorrow and would love to figure out what's happening with him before we leave.

Yikes! How long did that take to develop? Parasite, granuloma, bacterial infection are possibilities.

Thank you for the welcome, I'm sorry my first post has to be here too! but no we do not have bristle worms in our tank. This developed extremely quickly as in I didn't see it one day and then woke up the next morning and it was there, that was 2 days ago. At first I thought maybe its an injury /scrap but after taking some pictures I don't think so, all the other tank inhabitants look great the only other odd thing that has happened within this time frame but I cant find a connection to, but maybe someone else can is that my Lettuce Nudibranch died (very sad about this he was my favorite guy in the whole tank)

That looks like an infection at a minimum... I’d treat with the trifecta (kanaplex, metroplex, and furan 2) and an acriflavine dip wouldn’t hurt.

Perhaps an abscess that got infected? Or an injury?

Definitely looks like an abscess ( collection of immune cells and infectious organisms) with possibly cellulitis (superficial infection of skin). It needs antibiotics and if the abscess gets larger it may need to be drained.
