First off, I'm a Noob, so sorry for my ignorance. I just recently set up a Fusion Lagoon 25 g tank (cycling as we speak!). After a few days, I came to realize that I had fill the tank too high. So I lowered the water in the inner/center chamber where the pump is located a 1/2 in below the last baffled wall. It seemed to be doing what its supposed to. This morning I go to check the water line in the back and the center chamber is at least 1/2 empty! What happened? Where did the water go? I topped off this morning and the same thing is happening. The water level in the center is lowering. What am I doing wrong? I changed the pump to a slightly more powerful one (stock pump did 211 GPH this new one is about 350ish). I did replace the 2 filter socks with a media rack and a floss rack. Thanks for reading this long post! Any help would be great!

All tanks have evaporation of pure water out of the system. You have to regularly fill pure water into the tanks to make up for this evaporatation. It’s called top off and many people do it once or twice a day. How are you topping off the tank?
Also look for leaks because a slow leak will cause a reduction of the water in the pump chamber. But in this case you’d need to fix the leak and then fill with salt water to the desired level. Do you have any leaks?

As stated this is evaporation. It is common and the larger the tank, the higher the rate of evaporation. If I turn my fan on and take the tops off my tank, I'm running through about 5 gallons of RO water a day. And ONLY top off with RO/DI water or at least declorinated tap water. I would not suggest tap water, but I have kept a tank for years doing so. Definitely invest in an Ro/Di system if you can.

By adding a pump that moves more water , it's pushing the water out faster than it can overflow .

ok, that make sense! I think I can turn the pump down a bit. I will try that. Thank you!

Not that I know of, but I'm off to check! Thank you.
