So I have a 20 gal frag tank . Three days ago I statred to noticed my water started to turn white . I did a 10 gal wc right away but it's still there . Can this be bacteria bloom ?

Hi randy ,

I haven't added anything all I did was a wc . I'm using reef crystals salt .this is my sump I'm using on te tank .

The tank is about a year old but the water came from my bigger system it's 3 years old . What I did was 15 gal from my big system and 5 gal of fresh salt water . No I mixed in my mixing barrel .

No I only have 2 fishes I feed them once a day . It's an sps tank so I try not to put to much things in there . Should I throw in a bag on chemi pure ? Would that clear it out ?

If it is bacteria, chemipure won't help except maybe to provide a different substrate for future bacteria to grow on.

How long have you had the cloudiness? Waiting may be the simplest option. Bacteria in the water aren't an issue except aesthetically :)

if it's bacteria, skim wet and oxygenate the water. Stop feeding for a couple days. A large bacterial bloom can cause oxygenation issues which is why the aeration helps. However with the way your sump is designed, the falling water may be enough...
