Need help with 55 gal sump tank

Hello I have a 125gallon salt water tank and we have had a canister filter on it. We are wanting to change it to a sump we have a 55 gal tank for it with a custom built stand. As of now it’s just the tank with nothing in it. We are wanting to get our return pump/ protein skimmer before we set it up, just so we can make sure everything fits and what not. What are your recommendations for a skimmer/ return pump for those sizes?

Depends on your overflow setup, can't answer without more info.

What type of overflow will you be using for the 125 gallon? How much flow your return can handle is going to be very important for sizing your pump.

There are tons of skimmer options, all my tanks are small so I will not be much help in picking a large skimmer haha. That said if you post the size of your skimmer chamber including how deep it is/how much room between the top of the sump and the bottom of the stand, I am sure others can help.
