Got the aquamaxx fc-80 in the mail and now fully assembled. Can anyone tell me why there is a hole/tube in the bottom of the collection cup? I feel like skim mate is just going to drip right back into the sump

Or you can use the tube to remotely drain the cup without having to take off the cup (and not just drain it into an even larger container).

not to thread jack but do they make these larger container that won’t overflow?

I've seen people just use regular containers such as an empty gallon of milk. I don't think you need anything to special to do it.

The Avast skimmate locker comes with with a float valves and controller to trun the skimmer off. You can also obviously easily diy something like this with an Apex, breakout box, and $5 float valve.
