Hello

I have 5 acans in my tank . With 2 of them being recent additions . When I first got them they acclimated quick and looked exactly as in store for the first 3-5 days . Since then they have retreated and not popped back out .

My tank peramiters

1.030 salinity ( I am normally at 1.025 ) however I have been fighting my ATO lately and plan on trouble shooting it this upcoming weekend
Nitrates 0.00 Slowy trying to increase this I was fighting GHA a few months back and have been dosing Vodka and Microbacter Clean but I have since stopped dosing
Phosphates 0.00
Magnesium 1500
Calcium 450
ALk 10.0
PH 8.2

Any help is appreciated thank you !!!

I’d slowly get your salinity back to normal 1.026. Do you have other corals doing well or is everything off? The higher alk plus the 0 nutrients is also an issue. I believe lowering the salinity should help lower the alk as well but I’m not 100% on that.

I tested my salinity today after work and it was 1.027 after adding some RODI water to the tank last night so its slowly lowering back to the 1.025 i usually have it at

I turned off my skimmer tonight to try to increase my nitrates and phosphates a little bit

Hopefully my acans can recover as i hear on other posts that they can bounce back eventually :0

The rest of my corals are looking very good and happy so maybe its just a waiting game?

The most obvious answers you gave in the original post. No nutrients(phosphate/nitrate) and high salinity. The question i have is why are your other corals doing ok? The newest additions are probably most vulnerable because they were already stressed in the move to the store and then your tank.

The other thing i would quickly consider is if they are getting blasted by too much light.

Turn ur skimmer back on. Lol. Dont change too much. Ur high alk and salinity just need to come down.
