Raise your magnesium levels to around 1500. This will help to kill it off. It just withers away.

Hello sagi, I'm in the same situation. Very low nutrient & too much algae. I stopped dose No3/Po4 & them go to zeros for a month . Now algae "seems" to be paling some. (my tank has always nutrient deficient ) .
