I need help with my BRS 150 upgrade kit installation with float valve and aquatec pump. BRS instructions dont help. I am getting no waste water and the tds coming from the two membranes is 60 tds. I have the 600low restrictor as in the photo below. Is the flow restrictor the problem? I have the hoses hooked up correctly following the spectrapure instructions, only good instructions I could find.

Is it possible you have the two connections at the bottom of the membrane canister connected in reverse? It sounds like a possibility to me.... no waste water and high TDS... is what would happen.

The waste water is the one that is just a tad away from the end that has two connections and the RO water comes out the one at the very end of that same end. Input is at the one alone on the other end. (..unless you have a totally different unit....)

A made a change to my above post that may clarify it better.

If it still doesn't work or is not like I say.. post a picture of your actual hook up... ;)

Just in case I never said so: oops.. you joined WAY before I did... my bad.

I took off the piggy back membrane and it still is not working. Must be the float switch that is the problem. The float switch will stop the water though.

Here is a picture with just one membrane connected with float switch.

Have you watched the brs video on how to hook it up, or were they written instructions? I thought the video was pretty good. I had to replay a few parts more than once, but when I was done with the connections, it worked like a charm.

I watched the video but it showed the restrictor in the beginning and the float switch at the end. I still need to watch the float switch video and go from there.

OK.. I looked at the picture and I see some problems.. the far end hookups look totally wrong to me.. however, with that set up as a // pair I have no idea how they are intending them to be correctly plumbed.. but I'm fairly sure that is wrong.

To me it looks all wrong. First put your canisters in the same direction which will help. Watch the video again. I'm not in front of my Rodi so I will have to comment again later.

fragmatic is right. your product line and waste line are reversed. the product line (blue) is supposed to be connected to the far end of the membrane housing and the waste line (black) is supposed to be connected to the other output which is a bit more the side of the membrane housing.

1. first of all you have to flip the top membrane housing (red arrow) 2. disconnect blue line (yellow #1) and connect to port #4 (white number) on top membrane housing. 3. grab a black line/hose and insert into port #6 (white number) this is your waste line for the upper membrane which needs to be connected to the input port on the bottom membrane which is port #1 (white number). 4. now unplug blue line (#2) and insert on port #3 (white number). 5. unplug your waste line black #3 (yellow number) and connect that to port #2 (white number). that completes the flow for the bottom membrane and now you will have to complete the flow of the top membrane. the only open port on the top membrane is now port #5 where in you will have to grab another blue line to be connected here. 6. you will now have to connect together the product/blue line of both membrane by way of another Y adapter which will go where I put that blue X on before the square shut off valve. lastly, now for the waste line, depends if you have the flush kit or not but in the waste line (yellow #3 which is now connected to port #2) this is where the flow restrictor needs to be attached. hopefully this will help you out.

Thanks guys. I took it all apart and started with just the original rodi setup and I had the waste and product reversed. I will try to follow rlmans explanation and try putting it all back together with the pump and switch float adapter now.

I have another question on the float at the end of the product line. Is it supposed to just spray out around the float or am I missing something? In a large bucket I dont think it will be a problem, but if I wanted like a stream flow it might be a problem.
