I have a 125 gal 6 foot long tank. I am using a 6 bulb t5 fixture that I bought used. Opener said the bulbs are over a year old so I want to replace the bulbs. The fixture has 2 switches. So the question is what color combination of bulbs would be best? How many of each color? Right now I only have zoas, mushrooms, Xenia, and 2 acans.
Thank you

Ati or red sea. You truly get what you pay for with t5 bulbs. I took par readings on ge bulbs v. Ati and red Sea. Almost half the par with the cheaper bulbs.

With 6 my vote would be 4 blue plus, one purple plus, and one coral plus.

Thank you very much. Would I put 3 blue plus on one switch and then one of each on the other or does it matter?

I'd do the same with a 6 bulb. 4 blue+, 1 coral+ and a purple+. I prefer to use ATI bulbs, but I haven't tried red sea.

I have the ATI 48in 8x54w and currently run 6 blue+ and 2 purple+, but when I get home I am going to take out a purple + and put in a coral +. My tank is 98% SPS though.
