How would I remove the disk attached to this Lobo. Also, is it okay if I do this? I would rather just have the coral on my sand bed. This is my first lobo so I do not know how fragile they are when removing the disk. Thank you everyone in advance!

Beautiful lobo!! I always just slide a single edge razor between the coral and the disk, should pop off relatively easily after you find a weak point in the glue. You can always just use bone cutters to trim the disk (while keeping the coral glued to it) so its not so big. This is better if you can’t find a good point to separate it from the disk

I would have bought that, very nice, can you do a pic side on please?
People sometimes miss that stem flesh is easily irritated and worn away by sand with lps, keep the stem flesh out of the sand. :)

Very nice! As others have said - it's easy to pop them right off the plug. I prefer a small screwdriver so that if I do slip I don't slice myself open.

That being said, I'd leave it as is for now so that you can keep it up out of the sand until it grows more. It would be easy to lose that in the sand, especially if you have anything in there at all that might stir the sand up around it.

Thanks for the replies all! after hearing all the advice I think I will keep it on the plate for now, and once it grows out I will look into removing it. I only have trochus snails as a CUC, so hopefully they do not throw sand all over it.

That coral is very short and if you have to pry on it you might damage/break the skeleton and end up with a few fragments.
Once off the plug, I would recommend re-gluing this to a flat rock so that as it thrives it can grow and attached (like in nature) so that it doesn't get moved around where it is more likely to become locally extinct.
Others said it, and I agree, "nice frag!"
