Looking to begin adding corals to my tank and thought I would reach out and see what you guys had in mind. The tank is a 72G Bow front and 2x48 Current IC LED lights. The tank has cycled and I will be testing the water for calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium shortly to make sure they are in line. But, wanted to get some ideas on what you all think would look nice in the tank and placement. I tried to make some shelf areas and of course, a token anemone will be going in.

Thoughts?

Looking great so far. How long has the tank been up and running? While you can plan ahead for where you want the anemone to go, I would advise against adding one until the tank has matured (which can be anywhere from 8 months to a year) While you can add an anemone right away, the parameter swings of a young tank significantly increase the likelihood that the anemone will not survive. As far as starter corals, mushrooms, zoas, and green star polyps (secluded to their own island) duncans are great starter corals for dipping your feet in :) These are all lower light coral and will go on the bottom portion of your tank, leaving the upper for sps corals in the future.

Kinda depends on what you like...soft corals can grow quick.. Duncans, hammer, frogspawns, you can do devil hands, toadstools..there are lot of possibilities. Things will grow very large tho, make sure you leave room for what you want to expand without issues. having a stable tank is key tho before you start adding expensive critters to a tank.
Good luck

Welcome to R2R! Maybe Put in the Nem first with some fish so it settles before bouncing around and harming other corals? It's really nice to have the anemone find a comfortable home on their own which will increase the chances of it staying put. Then add other sensitive corals around and away from
it's tentacle zone. Def get some fish and LRS fish food , they'll be your coral feeders.
