First time reefer, just need help with my Juvenile blue tang.
When he was introduced to the tank, he found his comfy spot wedging itself between rocks.
This is his safe place and also where it typically zzzz at night time.
During the day he's swimming around and eating well.

Over the past few days, he's been rubbing his body against rocks and developed some sort of "rash" (see pic below)
Not sure if it's due to it sleeping between rocks and getting irritated or some other disease.
Appreciate some help

Did you quarantine the tang when you acquired him? If so, what procedure did you follow?

What other fish are in the tank?

Does the mark have any redness or sign of infection?

The mark could be from rubbing as you suggested, or perhaps from an attack from other fish.

A possibility, if the fish is frequently rubbing against the sand or rock, is flukes.

Treatment would require a QT setup and praziquantel to eliminate the flukes.

If any sign of infection or redness, treatment would require an antibiotic like kanaplex or Maracyn, also in a QT setting.

See the link below for our QT protocol.

No QT. Just acclimated for a few hours in into DT

Fishes in tank include
Pair of clowns
Sixline Wrasse
Lawnmower Blenny

No redness or infection at the moment. Just discoloration.

I'll get myself setup with a QT going forward. But for now just keep an eye on him? Or does it need immediate QT?

Clownfish can be particularly defensive of their territory, so that remains a possibility.

I would keep an eye on him and if you see any sign of deterioration, or if the flashing persists, move to QT quickly. It is smart to keep one of the antibiotics on hand, as well as a tank that could be used as hospital tank if the need arises. If it is flukes instead of injury, all of the other fish are at risk. Keep an eye on them for flashing also.

Quarantine with this particular tang is recommended as they are prone to ich and skin irritations. The growth looks to be bacterial and may have stemmed from a small mechanical injury. You can treat In Tank with ruby Rally Pro or more effective - Seachem Kanaplex or even Neoplex
