Need help with Diagnosis please...

Noticed a few scales that looked ruffled up a couple days ago.. Then it led to the death of my Eibli today... Picture is of the open wound that happened rather fast imo.. It was in Qt and I was running Formalin MS at 1 teaspoon per 10 gal. Any input as to what it may be and how to treat it would be greatly appreciated ... Thanks Jim

That looks like a wound that got very severely infected. If caught early enough Kanaplex or Furan 2 in a hospital tank would have helped, but if it had gotten bad a combo of metroplex, kanaplex and Furan 2 would have been needed all at once.

^^This. Most likely a Aeromonas spp. bacterial infection. Its gram negative, so you would have needed to dose the "combo" Meredith mentioned above for this fish to have any chance at all.

Thank you both for the help... I was thinking it may have been Brooks disease or something along those lines... I was treating the fish but incorrectly...
