I'm looking to put prolly like 6 leds on my 10g. Well I looked on ebay and might be a little lost. I seen some leds sold by them selves but Besides buying the actual LEDS what else do I need to get them up and running?
All help is thanked in advance!!!!

If you want to DIY your LEDs go to Rapid LED. Do your research on colors, first. Then you are covered.

Been looking at their site, like what they have. With my light setup just want to add a few LEDs to help with coral growth. I already have 2 50/50 power compacts in there, was thinking of a 2:1 ration with white and blue. Thinking of maybe only 6. Now after reading some stuff, have seen that some use a dimmer and some say no. Its only a normal 10g tank. Whats the general concenssous of a dimmer?

Royal blues and UV violets are the way to go for color. Might I suggest a 2:1 ratio; the two consisting of royal blues and UV violets, and the 1 obviously consisting of cool whites. This is how I basically built my setup and couldn't be happier

Obviously I threw in more of a spectrum including deep blues, reds, and greens. But from how you describe, this is a good route to take

Also, I wouldn't do DIY LEDs without a dimmer. They offer such a range of options. And that's the best way to introduce your corals to the new set up. Two thumbs up for a dimmer

Rapidled is a great start, i went for a big setup about a uear ago & i love it. One thing to watch is the mA rating of each color. I went with blue, white, red & ultraviolet. White & blue max at 1500 mA, my reds & UVs peak at 700 mA. You can also run up to 14 LEDs on each driver (but not on the UV, 12 is the max there).

Dimmable drivers are a must! I went with the remote control led controller, it's fun to change intensity & color from wherever. The controller can control up to 3 different sets of up to 9 drivers total. So on mine I can have just the blues, just whites or the red/ultraviolet strand.

LEDs are for sure the way to go, great growth & tons of shimmer

Do the dimmer. I have a set of Rapids over my display refugium and having the three color groups on separate dimmers is a life saver.

All right so Im gonna do the solderless leds with a dimmer. Im thinking that Im gonna stick with my PCs i have on it now, just to get my money out of them. In stead of adding to what i have now, Im going to retrofit the lid I have or make a custom one.
Now for how many should i use with a tank that small??

Btw neudecker great looking tank. Do you not have any substrate???

Rapid LED dimmers are compatible with controllers that are able to dim your lights. Make sure you know what controller you want/have and what it uses as there are two different protocols. This will allow you to have a true dusk to dawn tank simulation. Keep in mind that the RKL only supports 4 modules and their light controller module only has 2 dimmer outputs.

Thanks! I used to have sand in the bottom, but I just switched everything to a 90 gallon wave tank, and left it out. It just held too much of the detritus. Now it seems to swirl into one spot where the crabs have a smorgasbord
