Hello everyone! So, I have terrible apstasia outbreak in my current 25 lagoon, so I decided to start completely over with a 40 breeder, but I am going to keep my fish. My biggest worry is when I transfer my fish over to the 40 breeder (only 3 fish in the lagoon rn so itll take a couple of weeks before all three are added) that I will grab apstasia somehow and I'll be in the same predicament. What is the best and safest way to get my fish to the new tank without the risk of bringing and of those terrible creatures lol.

Are you starting the 40 with all new rock and everything?

I have noticed a few aipstasia (maybe 5-6) in my 25 lagoon and is debating between peppermint shrimp and aipstasia eating file fish.

If you dont reuse the rock you should be fine. Just dont disturb the aiptasia when grabbing the fish. If really worried you can quarantine to a rockless observation tank for a day or rinse them before placing in new display.
The aiptasia wont encyst on the fish rather just risking carrying the offspring in the water if they scare.

New everything yes. This time going with dry rock lol. Gonna be dosing bacteria everyday for around 2-3 weeks, have an ammonia patch and Amguard and Prime ready to go. I will also be doing every other day water changes for a week or 2 to make sure no issues happen with a new cycle!

Yeah the water column is what I am most scared of! Oh makes sense, I will turn off flow around an hour before getting any fish then. I sadly do not have another tank at the moment ): Do you think having 3 buckets of the same salinity water and moving the fish from bucket to bucket will be useful or just stressful for the fish.

You could still end up aipstasia in the future (from a frag plug or something of sorts). If you have a mature aquarium where everything does well, I would try to get the aipstasia under control.
