Added a Frogspawn to my 30 gallon reef tank around 2 months ago. At first placed him at the bottom in the substrate and he came out almost immediately, large and full. Only trouble was he would get knocked over at times by a passing critter and then on one occasion was harrassed pretty badly by my blue chromi. After the chromi incident he has been more timid, showing only a fraction of what he was originally. More lately he has been even more reserved so yesterday I moved him higher, to a stable place in the rock work. He has more flow where he is currently and obviously more light. So far he hasn't really made much of an appearance, but its only been 1 day. Other corals (mushrooms, xenia, starpolyp) seem fine. Should I let him be where he is and just give him some time? Any other thoughts?

Got some pictures? seem if he was happy lower put him back and leave it be for awhile

I think I’d leave it higher where you’ve just moved it to so long as it’s not getting constant directional flow. Especially at it’s base skeleton. IME frogspawn doesn’t like being blasted with current.

Agree with above find a spot that its secure and leave it. Ime frogspawn can handle any light upto about 250 par if given enough time. They a slower to adjust to differing flows. All the toppling, sand stuck, touching stressed it a bit.

My go to course for frogspawn issues was leave it for a day or 2 if something changed, then do a water change. No idea why but this always perked my frogspawn out of a funk.

Thanks to all! Going to leave him. May adjust powerhead on that side so that he isn't getting too much direct flow.

Just an update gang. Frogspawn out a little more every day. Slow going but seems to be making progress.
