Need help with g2 425 xl build

Welcome !!!

Yes They will work but their are better options out there like ecotech radions , Kessel , etc but they are pricier . My opinion if you can afford it get the best you can afford as if they don’t perform as you want you’ll be spending more to upgrade later . Brs supply has good YouTube videos on lighting to help you learn about each light and their capabilities. Also go to different lfs in your area and see the lights they use in action . Good luck !!!

Will 2 ai 32 hydra work for me on a Red Sea 425xl g2 with mixed corals
BRSTV did some PAR tests and they recommend 2 for softs and lps.

Video here

I am kind of in the same boat as you. I want to do a mixed reef in a 90 gallon. I haven't found much par testing information online for mixed reef. I am thinking about using 3 Hydra 32s. I will be doing some PAR tests when I eventually get my tank. I can let you know about my results but I'm still a few weeks out.

Should no problem. I run 2 xr15 pros with reefbrite add on kits on a 625. Mixed with sps.

Yes and start intensities somewhat low and increase slowly to desired intensities.
I would not do reefbrites as primary lights however Orphek OR3 bars with the 5wt diodes would work

No idea IM growing sps no problem. Derasa and hippo clams on the sand bed. I also use diffusers. Running modified ab with whites turned down. The reefbrites are on the same time as my fuge light. Come on around noon and go off around 9pm. They do have a Bluetooth contraption they sell though.

Proof it can be done. This is with the radions in moonlight with just the reefbrites. Don't mind the shadowing I've been having issues with that one light. Its not as bright for some reason as the other three.Don't notice it during the day at all.

Think one Kessil AP9X will be sufficient for this sized tank? I’ll be setting up the tank soon and plan to ease into some easier corals around the 6 months mark.

That might be a bit of a stretch for SPS. But for a mixed reef, provided you don't run a lot directly in the front or back you might be ok (rockscaping can also have an impact).
