I just received my first ICP test results. The Tin and Antimony levels are very high. I am not sure what would be causing this. My tank is only about 5-6 months old and all my equipment was purchased brand new. I know a rusting magnet could cause this, but everything is still in relatively new condition. Magnets include my 2 Icecap gyre pumps, Tunze algae scraper, ATO sensor, frag rack and Innovative Marine algae grazer. I don’t see any evidence of rust on these. What else can I look for?

Also, any other red flags on my test? Thanks.

I don't think the tin is high enough to be a concern, although one cannot be certain as ICP does not distinguish different chemical forms with different toxicity. Tin often comes from plastics.

Antimony sometimes comes from UV systems, such as the Green Killing Machine. It too may not be high enough to be a concern.

Thanks Randy. The visual charts that they provide showed the tin off the charts which concerned me. I did just add a Jebao UV about 2 months ago. That may be the antimony. I will give it a few months and run another ICP test.
