Hello,

I have a 63 reefliner all in one with about 50 gallons of approximate volume. It's stocked with lps dominant corals. I'm looking to start dosing kalk.

Calc starts around 400, alk around 7.5 after my weekly 10% water changes.

I'm currently going down about .5dkh per day. In addition I'm also going through about 1/2 gallon of top off daily. I purchased a BRS 1.1ml dosing pump (1.1 was recommended to me over there 50 plus ml per minute pump) and want to start using kalk. Dosing pump is currently running about about 1.7ml per minute. I used the hamza calculator and trying to get what seems would equate to my daily consumption seems like it could mean running the dosing pump rather continuously throughout the day.

I'm trying to get some suggestions on the best timer they use for frequent stop start dosing throughout a day as well as if there are any recommendations for what a good starting dose might actually be.

I used ordinary home depot timers with 24 time periods a day for my dosing pump (dosing vinegar).

For 0.5 dKH in 50 gallons, you need to dose at least 830 mL a day, so 754 minutes of on time, or 12.5 H.

You may find it is too slow if demand rises.

Might just have it on from 8 am to 9 pm (or the reverse if you want to dose at night).
