Hello all...

I changed from 2 Kessil 360We's to 1 AP700 over my mixed reef 75 gallon deep blue tank.

The 360 we's were maxing out around 90% intensity about 8 inches over the waterline. Things in general were OK, but i wanted the AP700 because of less cords and no need for a controller.

I put the AP700 about 15 inches over the water and started the max intensity at 50%. It looks to me like I torched/bleached some corals so now im down to 37% max intensity.

Is it possible at 37% i am still to high? ive bleached some montis and it looks like my long tentacle plate keeps moving away from the light. I guess i have to get a PAR meter to really know whats going on... but i thought at this low intensity i wouldnt have bleached corals since i was moving from Kessil to Kessil.... Didnt think it was going to be THAT drastic of a difference.

Anyone with the AP700 go through anything similar? Help!

I have a FOWLR tank so not reef but I lowered my max to about the same, and dropped to the low 20's for 4 hours, 12-4 to try to control algae growth on the rocks and sand. It's relatively new, about 7 months. I have 2 over a 240 and they are 9 1/2" over the lids. With a 6x2 footprint and 2 units, I don't need the spread you do.

I have one AP700 over my 57 rimless. Had the intensity up to about 45% and started to notice a negative change in my corals so lowered it to 35%. On BRS 52 weeks of reefing they have theirs set to 33%, granted they have supplemental T5 lighting. I just lowered my lights so need to wait a bit to see how the corals react.

Should mention my lights sits about 9 inches above water level.

Hmmm... i guess what im seeing is true then.,... Going to knock the max down to 30% and start from there.....
