I have 4 AI 52 lights, 2 Vega and 2 Hydra hanging about 14 inches over a 6ftx3ft 300g Deep Dimention tank

I have seen many photos and posts that show beautiful tanks with lightning that does not resemble anything mine looks like.

I have the lights set to favor the blues.

0 red or green
65% white
100% blue
80% violet
100% royal
75% UV

Lights are set for 1 hour sunrise and sunset. I have heard of people using weather effects but I’m not sure how that works or the benefit of it.

Furthermore, water quality is not an issue as it consistently tests great and I do have an apex monitoring only parameters and not controlling any systems or equipment

Leathers and mushrooms an some coral grow great but most do not and have stayed almost the same size they were purchased at

I am going to ask the question, when you said " I have seen many photos and posts that show beautiful tanks with lightning that does not resemble anything mine looks like." Are you referring to the color of the tank itself or how it looks when you take a picture of it?

Just the vibrancy or colors, and corals

My leathers and mushroom and star polyp grow out of control but the rest, hammers, frogspawn and a trumpet that never is out don’t seem too happy or show any growth. I feel like the flow could be a reason but is fairly moderate to high and the parameters or water are good, I assume lighting

But def agree, for being a lot of light. I am using 2x hydra 26hd. I need a few more to cover more area but def feels like you have to much light for all those corals

We have mostly LPS, just added a few SPS up high in tank to try see what works best in our tank. We already know leathers, mushrooms and star polys work great and our first birds nest looks good and is growing but zoas do grow well a little then melt(maybe a fish biting) our hammers don’t grow but do ok and some have bailed out. Nems (BT) ok but don’t grow. Do you think we have too much like or not the right settings or another problem all together. Fish are fine. Have 2 MP40s and 2 H2 pro qp16 power heads. Phosphate reactor and doser. Apex for monitoring only. Co2 scrubber to help with ph. And a UV sterilizer. Thinking lighting was our problem but not really sure. We have well water that goes to RODI. Whole tank covered in coraline algae also. No other algae problems. Have about 30 fish in tank. 300gal. And about 220lbs rock or more. Feed fish heavy 2x/day and feed coral Snow 1xweek. Just started aqua forest pure food 2xweek. 10-15% water changes 1x/week. Thanks for any input we appreciate the expertise. Tank is 1yr old but moved a three year old 75 gallon with coral into it so had a jump start. We upgraded for Our blue hippo tang!
