Hello all, I have a question about my setup. I have a 32.5 gal fluval flex. I was wondering if the stock lighting would actually work for a BTA, or if adding a second to the lid would work also. I know there's better lights out there, but they also come with a price tag I just can't do atm. I also have a feline that would love to take a swim (she enjoys water) if there was no lid. A mesh top just means cat hair in the tank. Or potential hairball, which we obviously don't need.

i would probably add a fan blowing across the top of the tank, away from the tank to combat the potential cat hair issue, but even so it should get pulled into the drain and caught by your mechanical filtration (filter sock, sponge, etc).

stock lighting MIGHT work.

So I talked to tidal gardens and they said add the second light to be safe, since you want the tank to handle sps also. Than my husband found a thread on here that says for sps add a second marine 3.0, for this specific tank. So that's what imma do I think. Thank you for the idea though if I ever decide to take that lid off for an AI prime in the future.

likely insufficient. Add a small bar such as 12" reefbrite or similar
