I have a 45 gal cube reef tank, with no chambers. I do not have room for a sump so I wondering if you could give me some suggestions for mechanical filtration. I was thinking of using a Magnum 350 canister with the micon filter. I currently have a reef octopus hob skimmer and a bio bio pellet reactor on it. Any help would be appreciated.:help:

If you have live rock and good circulation you shouldn't need mechanical filtration. Some people will use one for carbon, phosphate media etc. You really don't want to use a canister filter or any filter floss or pads as they will trap debris and cause nitrate issues.

I have live rock and good circulation, maybe to good...I have fine particles throughout the tank which takes away from the clarity of the water. I was going to use the micron filter to clear it up, and clean it every week when I do my water change.

You can do that. As long as you stay on top of the cleaning of the filter, it won't be a problem.
