hey everyone I need some help. I have a skimz up14 sump with a skimz sn123 monzter protein skimmer.im having a huge micro bubbles issue. The skimmer is putting out large amounts of micro bubbles and because of the small size of the sump the bubbles are making it into the display. What am I doing wrong or how do I fix it ?

In the chamber labeled number 1 is where the skimmer goes, follows the arrow into the return chamber.
Now in the second pic where you see the red lines is where the water comes out of a square hole built into the base of the skimmer

So I can't get the edited pics to work but this is what I gave

It is probably still breaking in. Make sure the water level is correct and give it at least a week. This happens with just about every new skimmer

So Im thinking you where 100% right. The micro bubbles are much less than they where just the other day. I still have them in The DT but they seem to be fading.

Did they ever go away or fade down to almost nothing because I’m going on 2 weeks and they’res a steady stream of them going down and out the back door

They never totally went away. I had to slow the flow down through my sump and that seemed to have helped. They are always there to a point but nothing I can’t live with. I actually wasn’t happy with my skimmer and I purchased a life Reef skimmer. It’s a beast and I’m much happier with it.

Wait.

I actually read the thread and know in this case that advice is an easy call in this case, but if I hadn’t I’d give the same advice. Wait is almost always the right answer with micro bubbles.

Okay that’s what i was afraid of because when to stop waiting is such a grey area and on all the threads i read they never come back and say if they went away or if they got a different skimmer. I gave brs a call a little over a week ago they said to give it a week now I’m asking you guys if it’s my skimmer or does this pic look familiar to anyone with this skimmer and is it going to disapate any more then it already has because i haven’t notice any change in quite awhile and I’ve been letting it run without touching it for a little over a week now

I spent some time looking at the design of the sump and the skimmer. It’s not really clear what’s going on but is there a chance you just have it in the wrong way? The design looks susceptible to trouble if it is rotated incorrectly.

I’ve rotated it 360 degrees 90 degrees at a time. I’ve taken it apart moved the bubble plate around reconnected everything and where I have it is where i get the least amount of micro bubbles in the tank

I tried to take a couple pics of the skimmer turning on. All the bubbles go up for about 2 seconds then some start rushing downward how weird is that
