Need help with my achilies tang

So I've had this fish for a few months now. And its steadily losing weight. So I'd assume internal parasites/ worms. But I can't really treat because the only thing it eats is nori. And not very verocious either.

There are times where i forget or skip feeding for a day (maybe 2) Do you think that could be why? Since I really noticed his weight loss, I started feeding daily. 2 sheets of nori 2x3" big.

He looks VERY skinny. Eats very little. What can I do?

BTW he came from another local person and he had him for quite a while and was pretty fat when I got him. I did buy another fish. Put him though copper, did about 2 weeks of GC laced foods (In a seperate QT) After treatment added the new fish to the tank with this achilies. Btw the other fish also ate well, but was losing weight and died.

I really haven't noticed him pooping. Guess whenever I looked at the tank he didn't have to poop at the time lol.

I would recommend trying some live food, Tangs are omnivores and need meaty foods as much as they need Nori to stay healthy.

dang, I'd really hate to pull him from that tank. He is up against way to much competition with the 3 other tags that eat like crazy. And would devour the live food. But that sounds like that exactly what I need to do. Is to pull him out

I make my own mixture which includes. Clams, muscles, shrimp, scallops, Pe mysis, and a whole other bunch of stuff. He doesn't touch it. Maybe one tiny piece of food. BUT one thing that I noticed you said. He also needs meatloaf foods. Which he isn't eating. At all. Since I got him back I'm December

That’s probably another part of the problem, he is being outcompeted for food. I would QT him and start working on getting him healthy

2 blue hippo and a purple. And they're in a 90g (for now, while I work on settings up my 500g)

That’s a lot of feeding pressure in a small tank.how long until you get your 500G done?

Quite some time tbh. I think I'll just set up another tank just for him and feed live.

I would try that if you can him eating pay attention to his appetite and excrement. Treating for internal parasites wouldn’t hurt either.

I don't think you are feeding enough.

My tank consumes 2 full 8" sheets of nori daily. You want nori available for around 3/4 of the day.

I really think I need to separate them for now. And feed him way more. And try live. (if he makes the transfer)
