I need someone’s help as to why my calcium level is not coming up. I just started dosing BRS Balling 2 part now that my tank is starting to up take.

As you can see my calcium level is at 313. I have dosed 150ml over the course of 3 days and it still has not risen. I pour it in at my return nozzles to help spread it around, little on one side then the other. I keep going back and fourth to make sure of no precipitation. I just tested my calcium with my Hanna checker and it is reading 467. Bottles for the Neptune are 40% full, even physically checked myself. So should I just swap the bottle out or is it something else going on that it’s not showing a rise?

I just went through a month long troubleshooting exercise with my Trident and calcium readings. My Trident was more than 100ppm off my API test kits. Went through a full factory reset and calibration as guided by Neptune support.

Calcium accuracy seems to wander away on the Trident. Good practice to always double check your readings with another Kit.

Pro tip - if you run through a Trident calibration task, be sure to test the Trident calibration fluid with your box kits or Hanna checkers.

And remember the test kit accuracy +/- values for both the Trident and other test kits to determine an acceptable range of values.

I would recommend reaching out to Neptune on the right process to bring the Trident tests a little closer in line with your other test kits. If for nothing else other than to have it noted with Neptune so they can take data and improve.

PS... if the Neptune support team is reading, you guys do a wonderful job with communication and help. Thanks

Double check with a couple of test kits. Yours and a friends. Depending on the size of your tank, it can take a good amount to raise the ca. Same with mag

Your mag is fine. That would be hard to bring down. You would have to do large water changes. Just double check levels with other test kits or even icp testing. After you have that info mover forward. As of right now any additional info if just going to most likely add to confusion

Bring the Magnesium down to around 1300.
That should help.
I do t know why it raised. I noticed that after I had dosed the calcium.

Sounds like a testing problem, not a dosing problem. Right?

The Hanna says calcium is fine?

IMHO the most likely issue - is the test. Not the level. Did you recheck it?
Yes I did, I used my Hanna checker 467. Also I just recently purchased the pHep+ tester from Hanna. I calibrated it and it read higher then my apex. I think all this might be an overall Neptune calibrating issue.

467 is fine
