Need help with my emerald crabs.

I need help on how to catch these guys. They unglued my frags, killed my starfish and my snails and hermits. But I can't get my hands on them. Any advise would be helpful.

Use a plastic cup and lean it onto some rocks so its standing up.....put a piece of dead shrimp in it.

In the morning you should have an emerald crab in the cup.

Also if you see him like that out and about get a long pair of reef tweezers and just pluck him out!

Fish trap.

Use the SEARCH function within R2R on different fish traps.

I prefer this one;

I would put big honkin' piece of RAW UNCOOKED shrimp in the trap. They'll eat it BUT NOT UNTIL THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. Yep...that means put the trap in the tank right before lights OUT. Check the trap at 3,4,5am. If nothing pull the trap out and RETRY the next night.

**** you MUST tie down the shrimp using a rubberband to a small piece of LR so they dont easily DRAG the shrimp OUT of the trap fooling you.

They make smaller traps. You'll just have to research

At 13g.... are you opposed to just pulling your LR one piece at a time? Emeralds usually dwell on the underneath side of LR.

Could be as simple as pulling a LR , flipping the LR over in your hand and WhhhhaLaaah . .pluck them off the LR

If you can pull the rock out that he hangs out in, then it would be easier to remove.

I'd make a small bottle trap with funnel easy to get in but hard to get out

So you dont hand feed your livestock. All mine are trained to come when the dinner bell rings? Even my crabs start snapping their claws and come running when they smell food.
