Just noticed this layer that’s on top of one of the polyps ... it looks like the polyp is tucked in and there’s one right next to it ... please help identify it and what should I do if it’s a problem

Flatworm, that coral needs a dip!

/And take a close look at your other corals. Dip any that have the flatworms every 3-4 days until they're gone.
On my way to the nearest LFS to get dipped , I feel so bad lesson learned to dip every coral

I noticed a flatworm on the hammer next to it as well

Yeah I had that issue with the only torch I didn’t dip... I had to dip all my corals again and from time to time do it again for like 2 months since babies kept popping up.

Since I don’t have my torches on any plugs how can I dip them ?

The dips do nothing to the eggs. That's why you need repeated dips, leaves time for the eggs to hatch. I run a 45 day QT at minimum for all incoming corals, inverts and algaes. Allows time to starve out fish disease but also gives you time to find any aptasia or nasty algaes as well.

Going to have to break them off the rock. Maybe re-glue the torches to smaller rocks you have move around easier?

Doing coral QT would be the ideal scenario. Since I didn’t have one setup or even the knowledge of the importance of it at the time I just dip them on a schedule for 2 months and stayed on the lookout for stray flatworms

Worth noting my torch didn’t make it... it was too far gone when i caught onto it.
Do they only stick to corals ? Or the rocks as well ... I’m worried if it’s a bad infestation... my local LFS is closed right now .... can the coral wait till tomorrow, any DIY at home dips

It can wait until tomorrow and they move around I’ve caught a few on my glass

3mins ,Blow off any stragglers with a pipette or baster should good repeat in a few days if you see more

I didn’t know freshwater dip worked too
Lol I used some fresh water , I say about 10 flat worms came off of each hammer coral ... but still I’m going to get coral dip tomorrow

Only have 2 hammers right next to each other .. I’m sure they hopped over right next to each other .. man this sucks
