Need help with my metal halide fixture.

Well, my bulb came in that I ordered from eBay. It is not like the picture they had. It is the ends that are wrong for my fixture. Just like the pic from the other day. Looks like I have to return this one.
I know everyone says match the ballast to the bulb on watts, but I'm guessing that the bulbs in my fixture are 150 and my ballasts are 250. What is the down side to not matching wattage? I'm guessing the guy I bought it from has been running it that way for years. And two of them work now. Just 1 is burned out.

Sounds like that fixture is either a hodge podge of parts that someone threw together or just a complete disaster. Do you know the brand of it? model #? does it even have a label on it?

Maybe you could take a few photos of the complete fixture and someone here may recognize it.

Update. I found out my fixture is 150watt but has 250 ballasts. I bought 3new 150 watt bulbs and have worked great!
