Alright guys, over the past coupke weeks ive had 2 new trachyphyllia die, one last week so i bought a new one and one this week dead, not bleached but very receded and skeleton poking through. Tested my water here are results
ph-8.3
alk-8.1 a little higher then i want it...
cal-460
nitrite-.25
nitrate-50
ammonia-0
salinity-1.025
temp 78.
mag-1350
phosphate- 0

So why is this happening, and how can i fix it. I have scolys, lobos, and they are doing awesome. Noticed my acans look like **** too. Can somebody please explain to me why this is happening!! Flow is perfect, lighting would be my only guess. The one trach ive gad for months and its been in 3 different tanks of mine. It does amazing but it is also closed right now which never happens. I feed them once a week with reef roids.

i attached a pic of tank, they are in bottom left corner on the rock. Let me know what you think

Nitrate a little high but im suspecting false and high salinity reading.
moderate lighting and water flow and feed 2-3x per week

high salinity? i use a red sea refractometer and calibrate it every time before use
For a piece of mind, get a second opinion taking a sample to a trusted LFS and have them test water for you to verify. I had similar and 3 instruments indicated 1.025 and ended up being 1.031
