I recently had a Laminectomy and Lumbar Spinal Fusion, so I am severely restricted on what I can do, and I have a 5 pound lifting restriction for months. My wife is trying to keep up with water changes; however they are stringing out to every 3 weeks or monthly. I am having issues keeping my Alkalinity and PH stable. Do you think my best option would be a stand alone doser like the Jebao DP-4??

Thanks!!

Automatic dosers are great for stability. Jaebo dosers do have some negative reviews as far as reliability, and for something critical I preferred to use a higher quality doser.

I have the Jaboa doser and it has been reliable for me. Suggest starting with a 2 part and go from there. Depending on your budget you could also opt for a wireless doser from GHL or others which wouldn't require direct access to the doser every time you want to adjust it.

I did read some of the reviews, and I am a believer in you get what you pay for. So I may have to look around for some others. Thanks.

I don't have a huge budget after Black Friday...lol I will look into some different options. 2 part is a good idea...

I've only been using them for a few months, but for my money the 1.1ml BRS doser with a $10 programmable timer was the best bang for the buck. No bells or whistles, but it gets the job done.

How much does your alk drop over a day or a week?

Water changes aren't very efficient for supplementing alk.

You have lots of options, depending on how much alk you are going through.

Dosers yes and some method of monitoring the parameters ( even just simple test kits)

That's what I am trying to figure out. The wife is doing a water change today. Then I am going to test again to get a baseline. It's been so hard to keep up with just testing because of the pain, and it completely wears me out. Today when I tested with my Hanna, it was at 5.5 and it's starting to show in the coral.
