Need Help with picking a Skimmer

The Red Sea 600 has too big of a footprint. The Octo150SS says it won't handle a 90 gallon with heavy bioload. It might, and I may not have a heavy bioload, I jest want to be prepared in case I do.

I love Tunze products, but have not experience with their skimmers. Will it handle the load?

I have the 150SSS on my 120 and it works fine

Ok, thanks for all the feedback. I think the 150SSS will work. I am more willing to accept actual experience from reefers on here than what a website says. I just want to make sure I am getting as much good information as I can.

I am setting up a 90 gallon reef with a Tideline 30" refugium sump. I am trying to select a skimmer that will fit in it that will do a really good job, and be as quiet as possible. I would also like to stay under $350 (if possible)

Here is a link to the sump.

The skimmer chamber says it is 8" x 11"

I really like the Bubble Curve 7, but I think it might be cutting it pretty close on the dimensions.

Can anyone suggest a nice skimmer, assuming heavy bioload?

I have a curve 7 and had to shave the base 1/8 inch (not the cylinder). Go with a curve 5, great bang for the buck and will service a 90 gallon no problem.

Separate question. On the 150SSS with the air intake being built into the riser, is there any way to run a CO2 scrubber to help with PH

Yes there is, you just don’t put the white hose in the red tube

Or you can run the tube from the scrubber into the handle through the top and leave the skimmer tube in the riser.

The riser basically acts as a big silencer. There is a 2" or so nipple on the cap of the riser tube. You don't connect the skimmer tube to that, you just put the tube in the riser. So the skimmer is always drawing air from the red tube.

Tunze 9410 dc without the filter attachment.

Tunze will handle that & then some. It's a really good skimmer.
