My flow in the tank:
I have a 20 Gallon tall tank with a Marineland Maxi-Jet 400 (110 gph with powerhead, 500 gph with circulation pump) and a Marineland Penguin Biowheel 350 (Probably a little overkill rated up to 75G, filters 350 gph). I plan on keeping just a couple nano reef friendly fish and a good size clean up crew, but mainly want a soft reef tank with a couple lps.
*Must also add for lighting I have the Current USA orbit lc 18-24"
Question:
From what I've researched 500 gph with the circulation pump might be too much for softies, but is my HOB biowheel filter going to cause much additional flow in the tank with pushing 350 gph? Will the HOB filter and power head be enough flow for the corals?
I'm taking advice from the internet and not going to be in a rush to put everything in at once, but I at least want the flow and lighting ready for when i do decided to add in coral.
I heard good reviews on the Current USA Orbit as far as a more budget LED and got a great deal on it (99.99) and its super customizable so i could either turn down or up the light whatever the corals want.
Let me know what you more experienced reefers think about the flow situation and my setup as a whole. This is my first build so I'm pretty excited! I'll probably post pictures of my build along the way. Thanks guys.
