So here’s the list of fishes that I have and I’m thinking of getting through time (#2-6)
1) 2x clownfishes (currently in my QT)
2) mandarin dragonet
3) royal gramma
4) red hawkfish
5) purple tang (1st choice) vs yellow tang

I bought the 75 g tank with a 20-30 g sump from a friend about 4 months ago. The rocks has been alive for 3 years now and has a good amount of pods. I’m currently supplementing with phyto to further increase the population.

I had more fishes before but 1 died from ich, 1 from ich / HLLE/ rotting fin, 1 jumped out, 1 traded back to my LFS. So now I’m left with my clowns who’s on their last month before being transferred back to my DT. (Wohoo!)

So my questions are:

1) would the list be compatible with the tank size and with one another?

2) how long do I have before the tang outgrows my tank?

3) if not compatible, i’m open for suggestions. Not a fan of wrasses because most of the time they are buried under the sand when I get home. Lol! Maybe something with personality. I have a 2-3 inch banded shrimp, 3 starfishes, snails, hermits, 4 small crabs.

Do you still have that Kole tang that's in the bottom picture?

No that one died from ich /HLLE/ fin rot
Sorry about that.
I'd say the Yellow tang would be a better fit over the Purple in a 75 gallon over the long haul.

Because of the difference in size or is there a difference in their behavior towards other fishes?

In growth a Yellow tang would be a better fit. Purple are also know to be more aggressive than a Yellow.
If you got a very small Purple he'd last a long time in a 75 gallon too.

Can't have both, they'd fight

hmmm. I think I'll just go for the yellow tang. Thank you for your input!
