I’m still in the building stage so fish are a little way out still, but I’m one who likes to plan. With that being said, I think it’s time to start figuring out the stock lost and and order.

I’m putting together a 100gal display with what will be a total system of approximately 150. It will be bare bottom so no sand sifters. it will be open with lots of swimming room and these guys need to be reef safe-ish. This will be a lps/mixed reef tank.

So far I have on my list:
niger trigger (my shelled animals will probably be snacks, I’m aware)
orange shoulder tang
copper banded butterfly
pair of clowns (possibly maroons, not sure yet)
green chromis (trying to get about 10, and I know of the challenges here)

I’m looking for an order to adding these guys and possible suggestions to add to the list.

Thanks!

So, the Orange shoulder is out of the picture due to aggression and size it will get. These fish swim a TON and are better off in 8’+ tanks.
CBB will possibly munch on fleshy LPS (Trachiphyllia, Scolymia ect) and don’t cope too well with aggression so the Maroons may not be the best bet with this fish. The Niger Trigger may be aggressive towards it too.

So that leaves you with These fish (Also in order of how to add them):
- Chromis (May become food for the Niger in the future though)
- Clownfish
- Niger Trigger

Replacements for the Orange shoulder could be:
- Foxface of some sort, excellent algae eaters however they have venomous spines, can grow to around 6-8 inch and are timid.
- Ctenochaetus Tangs, these are semi-aggressive and so can stand up to other aggressive fish however, they don’t really eat algae other than film and are more detritus eaters.

Another downside to CBBs is how under too much stress they tend to go on hunger strikes, and they’re already VERY hard to get eating.

This is great. Exactly what I’m looking for. I like Kole tangs and fox faces. Would adding both of these guys to the list be a good idea?

In order of introduction (possibly?)
Chromis
Clowns
Foxface
Kole
Niger Trigger

Does that look right?

I have a Twin Spot and Foxface in my tank and I highly doubt they’d go around letting something boss them around. I know for sure my foxface hates my tang trying to “rule” over him. So it should work! That’s a great introduction list too :)

Is that a pretty full tank or is there room for anyone else? Any suggestions?
